Coloniality and Museum Practice in Berlin
Many museums and collections are subject to public criticism because of their involvement in colonial contexts. Coming to terms with their own history and exhibition practice is long overdue. Three Berlin museums have set out to take a self-critical look at their colonialism: the Brücke Museum, the German Museum of Technology and the Stadtmuseum Berlin. The contributors provide insights into this process of reflection, the possibilities of transformation and the resulting consequences for museum practice. In this way, they provide impulses for the long-term and intensive processing of the topic, which can serve as inspiration for other museums.
Discussion: Anne Faser, Dr. Ibou Diop, Patricia Vester and Simon Salzmann
Moderation: Tahir Della, Black People's Initiative in Germany
