Dekoloniale Festival 2024, Day 3: Closing ceremony with discursive and performative interventions, DJ'ing and food

This year’s closing party of the Dekoloniale Festival 2024 will take place at our friends and colleagues SAVVY Contemporary in Wedding. We are excited to present the live performance “Yellow Banana: Back to Berlin,” by Olivia Hyunsin Kim mit Shin Hyo Jin, Ji Sun Hagen, Yoo Ka Kim, curated by our network partners Korientation e.V., as well as a contribution by Forensic Architecture, sharing insights from the previous city tour. Enjoy delicious food by Gambian Cookbook and DJ sets by DJ Zhao.

Enough with colonial continuities! The Yellow Bananas are back! The authentic bananas (“yellow on the outside, white on the inside”), Olivia Hyunsin Kim and her team are cleaning up German colonial history in the Asian and Pacific region in DIY style. After 110 years, the time has finally come! We are renaming Kiatschoustraße, Pekinger Platz and Samoastraße and celebrating it in Eurasian style!
