Conversation with catalog presentation of Moses März's »Decolonial Mappings«
Location: Studio 1 im Kunstquartier Bethanien, Mariannenplatz 2 10997 Berlin
Cartographies of power: After Berlin Biennale chief curator Kader Attia had already been part of the jury for the Dekoloniale Berlin Artist Residency 2021 , the good cooperation continued in 2022: The window front of the Dekoloniale project office in Wilhelmstraße functioned as one of the exhibition sites of the Berlin Biennale 12 and the project room of the Dekoloniale was used for a number of Biennale workshops. Kader Attia and Nadja Ofuatey-Alazard, festival director of the Dekoloniale Festival 2022, will once again look back and forward in conversation and are also happy to celebrate the publication of »Maps for the Creolization of the World« by the Biennale artist Moses März as part of the final round of talks. Moses März's maps trace the continuities and ruptures of what, from a decolonial perspective, is referred to as the German version of the "coloniality of power". Against this background, they devote themselves to the overlapping traces of various historical and current movements in and around Berlin that resist this power.
