Dekoloniale Festival 2024

The annually held Dekoloniale Festival represented the programmatic climax and consolidation of each Dekoloniale project year, in line with the respective spatial and thematic focus.

On the one hand, the festival hosted the annual exhibitions of the project section Dekoloniale [Re]presentations in cooperation with Berlin’s district museums in 2021 and 2023, as well as with the Stadtmuseum in 2024. On the other hand, the festival was based on a comprehensive artistic, academic, and discursive program of events that was connected to the various formats of Dekoloniale In[ter]ventions – Dekoloniale City Tour, Dekoloniale Berlin Residency, Dekoloniale Academy, Dekoloniale [Re]visions, and the Dekoloniale Berlin Africa Conference – and which unfolded significant impact into public space and urban society.
